Welcome to Goolwa Primary School

Situated in the historic river port town of Goolwa on the southern Fleurieu Peninsula.

Our students are provided with a diverse and rigorous teaching and learning program with a particular focus on Sustainability, Wellbeing and Personal Excellence.

We have a passionate and committed school community with current enrolments around 300 students in 12 classes from Reception – Year 6. Our leadership team is supported by a school wellbeing leader and a special educator who work closely with our teaching staff of 19 and our school support team of 10.

At Goolwa Primary School our vision is “Quality education in a caring environment.” The foundation for this is the quality relationships that we have with students, families and the local community.  Our school values are promoted and fostered as part of our Wellbeing programs to ensure that all students develop emotional and socially as well as striving for academic excellence.

Students participate in weekly lessons in Indonesian, Science, The Arts and PE with Specialist teachers.

The school has a strong focus on the integration of digital technologies across the curriculum and is well equipped with a range of desktop and mobile devices.  All students can access shared iPads to support their learning and older students have 1:1 devices. Robotics and digital coding activities are catered for through a range of programs including Lego Mindstorm Robots, BeeBots and a range of supporting apps.

Our Student Leadership program is highly valued and plays an integral part in a number of school programs including PALS (Play at Lunch-time Support), hosting our fortnightly whole school assemblies and regular Student Representative Council meetings.  Senior students also have the opportunity to be house leaders and play an active role in organising and running our annual sports day in term 1 and working throughout the year to support engaging learning activities across the school.

Please contact the front office to arrange an enrolment interview and a personal tour of the school.
